As you can read over here on Preston Byrne’s website, the United Kingdom’s Office of Communications (“Ofcom”) has been e-mailing demands to a foreign private company (4chan), attempting to subjugate them under British rule.
Despite this 4chan is fighting back, bringing a US federal lawsuit against Ofcom.
As of Monday, October 13th, 2025, having unilaterally decided that the law of the land on which the company resides is superseded by British sovereignty, Ofcom are pressing on with their colonial era ideology of empire espousing their claim of supremacy over the U.S. Constitution, going so far as to object to the jurisdiction of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (Section 3.11).
4chan, being older than Facebook, continues to demonstrate the viability of precursor social media.
One can only assume that this basic construct of anonymous communication is perceived as a threat by the United Kingdom.
No doubt, if they are allowed to succeed the precedent set will be used as justification to take-down smaller communities across the globe who cannot fight back, further consolidating power within the walled garden of The Magnificent Seven.
